• 143 Answers SOURCE: This is common problem among kitchenaid mixers. If you are hearing no motor sound what so ever, The likely cause is the carbon brushes are worn or gone completely, and will need to replaced, they are located at the left and right sides of the unit and only fit ONE way.

Part number for both brushes is W10260958 and comes one in a package. These are a wearable part and when gone will not create an electrical field for the motor to run. If however these are visually OK, the next probable cause of this will be the motor control board, this can cause a great deal of electrical burning smell when it goes. This Carlsbro PMX 12-2 Powered Mixer has come to us via a part exchange and comes with a 3 month warranty. The item has been tested and is in full working order. All the knob pots have been serviced and although some feel a bit stiff they all work. The item is in average cosmetic condition as it has various marks and scratches. The plastic covering on the sides is cracked and has bits missing (please see photos). It comes with the power lead, effects pedal and the manual.
