Garmin Lifetime Map Updater does not 'see' the new update. Garmin Express does and is downloading it now. A direct download link would be fantastic, bummer that I have to sit and wait for this huge download, with my Garmin attached, so I can't go anywhere until it's done.:( Don Lifetime Map Updater is not even supported by Garmin anymore and never worked properly anyway. Not surprised that you don't see the update if your still using that software.

Wow, thanks for the heads up! I guess I was a little confused because Garmin Map Updater appeared to have two options. (1) to go online and buy a map, and (2) to exit.but now that I looked closely, there is a link to (3) enter code. So I logged on to my.garmin.com and found the code for the latest Lifetime Map Update, entered that into Garmin Map Updater, and lo and behold I'm updating the map on My Mac. Once I get back tonight I'll update the 3590LMT, but for now I'm soooo happy to have the map download to my Mac.

I don't know why the Map Updater requires that product code before it will update the maps on only SOME devices. It wasn't an issue when I updated my 3790 but when I attempted to update the 3597 I got the same 2 options as you did and a 'enter the product key' box so small I missed it the first time through as well.:?.

This really isn't the best thread for your question as it's dedicated to the 2014.20 map update, which since you bought a Onetime Update recently you probably don't have.:wink: The short answer to your question is to download Garmin MapUpdater software from: PC Version MAC version and on the page that reads 'Ready to Update Your Maps' tap on the View Options button in the bottom left corner of the screen. On the Options page you'll beable to select what area's you want installed, where to install them etc.

Yes, the Nuvi should read the card automatically but you can always check by looking at the myMaps Setting on the Nuvi and insuring that the version of maps you installed on the card are the ones that are selected (ticked). If not then select them.:) To open a new thread (topic) just tap the New Topic button in the top left corner of the screen listing the current threads in the Garmin Auto Forum section. You can always use the Search facility at the top of the screen to see if your issue is being discussed in another thread already. I'm not sure I'd sound the death knell of the auto GPS yet. There are plenty of times that the phone GPS function is limited or not available where the auto GPS still functions. I rarely use my phone GPS and 99.9% of the time use my auto GPS. But maybe that's just me.;) I hope your right and I do agree with the 'functionality'.thus why I like to use GPS auto unit when traveling/renting a car in another city or state etc.

I find my iphone gps app works fine when I use it within the city just for fun. I know where I am going lol. But it works very well. I just prefer the stabile auto unit. Although my unit is cumbersome to use.
